Hello world!

After spending near a lifetime negotiating contracts, hearing grievances, resolving disputes, arguing cases before arbitrators and mediators, I decided to break away and recharge.

Looking to relax, reflect and do nothing I kept coming back to this same theme – every day life is about Reaching Resolutions.  Everything is negotiable, everyone negotiates or sadly settles…

So I hope you’ll join me in this endeavor discovering how we can reach resolutions without feeling we have to settle for less.  And no I’m not a lawyer!

Feel free to jump in and respond, I’m open to questions, comments and criticism ( just a little)

So here’s my background – I spent just under 30 years working for a State government in labor relations.  Yes I know, not what most people think about spending their lives doing.  But I did.  I negotiated over 40 statewide labor contracts, heard thousands of grievances and yes, even trained employees to be better employees and supervisors.  I’m pretty sure I’m the one responsible for keeping the state’s workers working without revolting.  No wonder I was so tired. And no, I’m not going to tell you which state.

Now how do I think I developed this particular skill?  To the chagrin of my sisters ( and brother) I’ve always said that as a middle child ( 3 of 5) I had to learn to bring people together! Those bookend siblings needed me as a bridge!  Yes, I actually was born to do this!
