Stay at Home: Day 39

This stay at home order has not been easy.
Still stuck at home.
I can’t go to the Club.
None of them.

St.Ambrogio
Lombardi Club
Verdi Club.
All Closed.

And the order was just extended. To the end of May. Another month.
My plans for the year?
Shelved.
Put in the basement of my mind.

No more restaurants.
Taco Tuesday is now No Taco Tuesday.

Have to figure out a way to occupy myself during this life shutdown.
Need a routine.

Can’t even get a haircut.
Ever try cutting your own hair?
I have.
Not as easy at it looks on all those facebook ads for hair clippers.
My bride said I look like the guy who started World War II.
After I asked her to help me.

Well, there is streaming. Binge watching. You Tube videos!
Can watch all the movies I want.
There’s even a western channel.
Grit TV. TV with a backbone!

I could watch all the daily news briefings by our national leaders, our state leaders and our local leaders. But I don’t.
I can’t listen to all the negativity. And the blaming.
Republicans/Democrats, doesn’t matter.
Each one of them are looking out for us. “They” (opposite side) are not.
Think they feel any need to work together for our benefit? No they don’t.

Don’t even look at Facebook anymore.
I’m tired of reading the public shaming by all the strangers who know what’s best for me and everyone else.
And don’t even venture to offer a different opinion!
No, sir don’t you dare!

So, instead I opt out.

Speaking of basement of my mind, that’s where I spend most days.
In my basement.
Alone.
Watching TV.

Might be good practice if I eventually spend time in an old folks home.
Unless, of course, my kids fight to have me live with them.
I’m pretty sure I see that happening.

I do look forward to getting the mail out of the box. Have since I was a kid.
Now with emails and texts, and the like, the US mail may become a thing of the past.
So if you do get a letter it’s special!

I do go out and bring the mail in for my mom every Wednesday!
Just don’t tell the authorities I go out once a week. I don’t want any trouble.
In Illinois we can get arrested for not wearing a face mask.
Even though the “authorities” are still debating their use.

So that’s it at this point.
Watching westerns and getting the mail.
That’s the two things I’ve got going.
Keeping me busy.

And now I’ve got another month at home to think of more.
