Ever read the book 1984?
One of the passages that always remained with me was that in matters of war the government would always proclaim “We are at war with Eurasia, we’ve always been at war with Eurasia!”

And the proles, the masses, accepted it. Even when the prior week the chant was “We are at war with Eastasia, we’ve always been at war with Eastasia!” Just accept what’s been fed.

The concept of “groupthink.”
Where you get the same message over and over until it becomes the truth.
Until they’re simply immune from what’s real, they just don’t see it.

That could never happen in our real world.
Our world today?

Everyone divided.
Equality, Fairness.

Extreme right and extreme left prevails.
Moderate views, mainstream opinions vilified.
No compromise. Hate those who disagree.

All or nothing. Free speech equals say what I believe because it’s true and it’s my right.
But I don’t want to hear you – at all.
You’re wrong.
About everything.

Is free speech only for those who are right (righteous)?

We’re all individuals yet speak the same talk.
Walk the same walk.
In our own group.
See just what we want to see.
Not blind after all.

Are we living on a ball of confusion?
