Tomorrow is Another Day

I wrote a book.
Reaching Resolutions
BOOKCOVER_

Reaching Resolutions 10 Rules for Success.

Rule #1 and Rule # 2
Don’t take it Personally!

And yet we do
We all do.
Even me.

It’s hard not to.
I’ve had friends turn on me. Yes they got angry because in my job, I took a pro-management stance.
I negotiate labor contracts representing the employer.
In other words, my boss gave a directive, I followed it and
my friends, former friends now, got angry.
At me.

We all have different perspectives, different vantage points
but it all comes down to what affects me/us the most.

We tend to forget that we are actually alike.
We are all the same.
We are all just trying to get along in this world.
Just trying to make ends meet.
Provide for our loved ones.
Just trying to exist.

If what comes out affects us, our instinct is to lash out.
Sometimes at the messenger.
I know.
I once got a bag of gummy penises in the mail instructing me to
“eat a bag of dicks”

Nice Try

People lash out when they’re afraid.
I get that.

But sometimes we forget
We are all the same.
The messenger is
just the messenger

And we take the message
personally.

It will be OK.
Tomorrow I can start over again.
