I did it for the same reason I got involved in the political world. To help people.

I know, it sounds a bit self serving, perhaps. But I really thought that. I told everyone.
After years running and serving in office I came to realize in politics at least, I don’t think I helped anyone, including myself.

So the Helping Kids And Families Fund was born in 2005 and today, we are getting ready to put on the 14th Annual N&JT Couples Charity Bocce Tournament. We promote other events but this is the event that started it all.

We even help others learn to play and even pronounce the game correctly. See, a lot of people pronounce the word as baci, which actually translates to “kiss” so if you say “Want to play baci ball?’ You’re actually asking for something completely different.

Through the efforts of several volunteers, we’ve been able to help kids and families in need locally, nationally and internationally.
