One of my favorite quotes is “Reality isn’t what you think.” I first read this in one of Dan Millman’s books, “Everyday Enlightenment, The 12 Gateways to Personal Growth.”
He writes “We are each living within the caves of our dimmed and distorted perceptions, seeing not the world, but our own minds. Reality is not what you think.”
I like this because no matter what we think, or base our beliefs on, it remains only our own perception. It’s not universal. You may see the very same thing but view it entirely differently according to your own mind’s perception.
Pretty cool – Reality is not what YOU (or I ) think!
When we negotiate anything, it’s helpful to always keep this in mind….
